How to eliminate/change the Microsoft Window 98 picture on boot up?
Ironically it appeared AFTER I flashed the BIOS to 1.5.022 to correct some picture tearing with panning. The tearing is gone but I get no picture until NT starts either. This is always due to a screwed up BIOS. Sometimes it's caused by a failed BIOS upgrade, sometimes the BIOS just gets corrupted.

Hard Drive Boot up Problem
During boot up, the LCD seems fine (maybe a little shaking/flickering) You're not being clear. It is either fine OR it's shaking/flickering. I checked the bios and no flickering or distortion of the picture after one minute (the computer has been on for a long time when I did this so no warm up issues).

ATTRIB didn't do a thing to help me :( It is normally a hidden file. In Explorer go to View/options and check "show all files". If "logo.sys" does not show up, just create a bitmap of size 320x400, 256 color and save it to the root of your boot drive as "Logo.sys". Next time you boot up, that BMP will load and not

However, it hangs during the reboot process. Any boot-up? I'm wondering if it's because it can't recognize the external drive before Windows boots up. The second time, it went passed that screen to a picture of an Acronis dialog box with a bar for "current progress" & "overall progress".

no picture under win98se (AGP2X card)
Now when I boot-up it alternately displays the normal boot-up with a picture (very soft semi-naked girl). Needless to say I want to remove the picture. I can't reload the original software as I think the company may be out of business. Their name was AllSee. Any help in removing the pictures would be appreciated.

As for Win 95 and Win 98, not only are they vulnerable to every hack that the mind of an Albanian teenager can devise, with an old processor and modern software they must take a half hour to boot up. Other than that, sounds great! (-8 I wonder if there are any firewalls or anti-virus checkers or spyware detectors

Windows Plug and Play may still change the card's IRQ during boot-up so the resource settings for that device will have to be switched to manual in Device Manager.
